The Alienist

The Alienist is a book set in the 1896. The book is a crime novel by Caleb Carr and was first published 1994. This story is told from the point of view of the main character John Moore.

There is a mass of reacouring characters in this book this list includes a woman named Sara Howard who is the first hired female of the NYPD.

Dr Laszlo Kreizler who is the leader of the investigation and is a intelligant alienist who stuides mental disorders and evaluates crimals.

The isaacson brothers who both help evaluate bodies and also both provide very very valuable information for the case.

Theodore Roosevelt who at the time in this book was New York City Police commissioner

Cyrus who is an African man who is apart of the investagtion he's apart of Kreizler's staff and is one of his carriage drivers.

And finally of the recouring characters apart of the investigation is Stevie a 12 year old boy apart of Kreizler's staff he is a driver and a house boy for Kreizler.

Dr.Lazlo Kreizler, Sara Howard, John Moore, and the Isaacson brothers are by far the primary characters in the story as they appear the most unlike Theodore, Cyrus, and Stevie who only have minor parts and limited information on them.



The alienist is a story that starts at the end, it begings in 1919 when Theodore Roosevelt is being buried in the ground after his death. John Moore and Kreizler are at dinner after the burial discussing past events that will be making up our story.
